LET'S TALK... CORONAVIRUS

I only wanted to scratch the surface of what's going on, and there's a couple reasons for that.
If you follow any sort of news, or social media, or simply know someone who does, you probably know a great deal of what is going on in the world right now. Businesses are closing, people are hoarding necessities, and people are afraid to leave the house without their sanitizer. (I would know. My job sold out every time we got them in)
But here's what I think. Yes, social distancing is important. Yes, this virus is something that could affect us all. But... in no way should you fear it to the level of an apocalyptic situation, or on the other end, ignore it like it isn't happening.
It is indeed spreading fast, and the government's approach to avoiding it by quarantining its citizens is by far, in my opinion, the best decision they have made.
However, I recognize that not everyone is not embracing this idea for the reasons it was implemented. Landlords are greedy, business owners are pretty much leaving their hardworking employees to fend for themselves. (Not my company, thank god. Love you BBW) It's a mess. It worries me that if this virus doesn't kill us, a lack of humanity will. So be kind!!!
But to the real reason why I'm writing this:
For most of us at this point, we're getting a couple weeks indoors. Now, personally, I see this as a break to look inward and spend more time practicing mindfulness, art, and journaling. (Okay and maybe binging as much Criminal Minds as I can)
But what will you do with your time? A lot of us are facing an isolation that can prove rather deafening, or enlightening depending on your perception, and your relationship to yourself.
I urge you all to think generously these next couple weeks towards yourself, and others. I hope that most of you will take this time to benefit from the time off, and discover parts of yourself you didn't have the time to do when work, or school interfered. Try art! Try yoga! Try journaling! Try Zentangle. Its a beautiful form of art that even I use to unwind and de-stress.
I wish you all a safe, and mindful quarantine. Stay indoors, and stay vigilant.
Many blessings,
Jackie Marie xoxo
